Florida heat wave
Hi, all.
Have to report terribly hot weather here in central FL. The murcury has
climbed over 130 (off the scale!) in my sunny patch on the south side of my
house for the third day running.
The Mombert 749 plant is holding up well, but lots of water and misting is
necessary to keep the plant stress free. I am misting my fruit as well, to
stave off heat.
Yesterday, the bank thermometer reported 100 degrees. I laughed. What can a
grower do but water, mist and pray in weather like this?
I am seeing slight changes of color in my pumpkin, due to the heat wave, I
suppose. The fruit is growing well and I have not seen a downturn in that
regard.
Forecast is for one, possibly two more days of this heat and then a drop to
88 degrees next week. No rain in the forecast. Hey Shellie! Send us some
rain, please?
Outta here, going to check patch.
Barb
Too darned hot already!
