I would think the best thing to do is to let the police know rihgt away.
If you don't, no matter what, YOU could get in trouble.
It might be there by accident, but someone might have planted it there on
purpose, hoping that you didn't find it, and as an insurance measure to keep
themselves out of trouble, (if anyone got in trouble, it would be you). If
this was the case, they might be back. Either to check on their little
project or to plant more. Even if it was just naturally occuring (again
really unlikely), the best thing to do is to let the cops know right away. I
am sure they have dealt with this happening on other farms or large gardens,
so they will know what to do to handle the situation. Another problem, if
you start handling the plants yourself, it could look like you were growing
them yourself. Any way you look at it, the best thing is to notify the cops
right away.
