To everyone:
I really hope no one sees any insults, negative comments, or off topic
ramblings from me, since I have made a lot of effort (reading my posts
several times before I send them) to make sure they don't contain any.
In my last several posts, I only answered on topic questions asked of me,
and that was pretty much it. I also wanted to give a "heads up" about "Brian
Hopkins", who as we all can plainly see was about as off topic as you can
get (although I tried to steer it back on topic in my repies by answering
his few legit questions. How can anyone get angry at me for that? Go
figure).
Also I want to clear up to the list (that is why THIS post is on topic -
well as on topic as the posts from others that they refer to), that I didn't
mean that ALL people at gardening centers are stupid, or even any of them, I
just meant it just seems that way around here. I usually get the "part-time"
help, I guess. Sorry about that, I was just exaggerating.
Also, I call Asclepias by that name because the cultivated plants are not
called "Milkweed", although they are in that family. And there is no common
name for them, really, except sometimes "Butterfly Weed" (sounds sort of
illegal....), and various other terms, but not any specific name. Watch
gardening shows on PBS, they all call most flowers and plants by their latin
names. It isn't just me! I just got into the habit of it, since it is cleaer
exactly what specific plant you are talking about. It is not like I go and
ask for everything by their scientiic names just to be an a$$. I am really
not like that! I call other plants by their common names, if they have one!
And Asclepias tuberosa is NOT a noxious weed, people! It is a cultivated
perrennial, and nurseries sell them all of the time! I don;t think nurseries
would sell "noxious weeds"!
Wowwwwwwwwwwwww, well I hope that clears things up. You know the reason I
post these publicly is because people ask publicly, putting things in public
speculation, (i.e. the "noxious weed" issue), so I think it is important to
make these public replies to make sure some on the list don't get confused
on the issue. They are followups to something which is brought into question
publicly, and if I do not reply to clear up these things, it would look as
if they are true, and this can really affect public opinions about growing
things in their own patch, and other issues. So that is why I need to post
public followups to make sure I clear up any misinterpretations about stuff
that I might have posted. (Not to whine or complain or insult). So from now
on, to keep everything a little more on topic, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
if you have questions about stuff that will stray off topic, write me
privately! PLEASE. If you do that, it will help me stay on topic better on
the list as well.
-Steve
