Hi ,
Sorry to hear about your problems,and wanted to warn  everyone of onion fly maggots when the weather is cool and damp .They'll attack seeds,roots and even enter the stem of the plants. Always slice open a dead plant and look for them. Diazinon and Ambush work good on them  If you can figure out what kills a plant when they young it's usually this
