Re: Conditions

Al
I can identify with the weather conditions you are having this season. We
had one of those last year here on the west coast.
This year it's not to bad. We are a couple degrees below normal in temp.
and up in precip. The pumpkins are doing great in their heated 7'x7'x7'
cloches. They are well ahead of last year and somewhat ahead of two years
ago.
Here's the breakdown of what I'm growing this season.
		871 Richart '97 (941 Eaton x 725.6 Bartlet)
		764 van Kooten '98 (1016 LaRue x 871 Richart)
		535 van Kooten '99 (968 Sproule x 764 van Kooten)

	535 seed started April 27 (up in 50 hrs.) 20" vine & 21 " leaf
	764 " " " " " 18" vine & 20 "
leaf
	871 " " " " (up in 80 hrs.) 14 " vine & 17" leaf

I'm holding on to your 780 with a tight fist. That will be a great fit
genetically next season.
The weather here is forecast to get nice and warm by this weekend. I hope
your neck of the woods clears up for you too. Take care and good growing.
