Subject: Viable Seed or Not Viable Seed??

My question to all you experienced growers out there is this, if you have a
fruit that for some reason must be harvested early but has many seeds that
will germinate, or for some other reason fails to get the opportunity to
live up to it's potential through weather conditions, or poor management,
but has many seed that will germinate, what would the quality of that seed
be?? would it carry the same genetic potential as it's parents, or would it
fail to be able to produce a quality fruit? I have seen some good genetics
in the pedigree charts produce a smaller fruit due to weather or management,

are these seeds still worth the effort? or are they robbed of their genetic

potential??? :)
all input welcome, I am really new at this.
