Re: seedling problems
Kim:
Your seedling needs it's leaves to make food so the
plant can grow. If they get broken off, the plant can't
photosynthesize (take light rays from the sun and turn
them into plant food).
Best to start over and this time, resist the urge to
interfere with the germination process. Don't worry
about the seedling shedding it's sead coat. This happens
naturally, without grower intervention.
For fastest germination, soak your seeds overnight in
warm water, then place them into warm soil, keeping them
in a warm area of about 80-85 degrees. Within a day or
two, a tap root will shoot down from the pointed end of
the seed. Within the next 2-3 days, your seed should
sprout and break soil.
As soon as this happens, move your seedlings to a sunny
location.
Good luck this time. Relax, you have plenty of time.
