Fresh cow manure should sit at least 1 month before planting anything in it. At 15-20 feet away, I would say you'll be okay. Don't be afraid to hit it with some lime as well.  See you in the morning.

Is there any way I can add manure to the patch at this time of the growing season? Plants are in protective closures and I'm thinking of adding the manure to a gravely soil just to help the texture.  If I add it 15 to 20 feet from the plants will it be too strong once the plants reach it?  This is relatively fresh cow manure.
