When to cull?

List,
Just wondering when others cull. Do you wait till they vine so far?  What determines the time for culling the worst plant?
So far, hill #1 looks like the Zunino 789, it's in the 5 leaf stage and are moderate in size. The Clouse 686 is smaller and growing slower.
Hill #2 is a very close race with the Bhaskaran 656 and the Rockwell 771. Both are at the 5 leaf stage with large leaves and thick stems. they are starting to push the limits of my 4x4x2 enclosure. Thanks for any suggestions.
