East Torrance report

   List
Here is the East Torrance report. Both 791 Glasiers are doing just fine
"yeah." The 986 Hester is a real surprise. It popped out of the ground
running This morning I couldn't see the tinny first leaf inside the dicots so
set it outside to acclimate. Today when I came home the whole plant had
tripled in size and the first leaf was plainly visible. I set it in the
mound. I have it in a large sour cream container approximately 5 inch pot and
pretty tall. as I took it out of the pot I was just sick to see a tap root
circling the bottom of the pot. It was about four inches long and there were
many many other roots that were touching the side of the pot and circling
about a half an inch to two inches. I don't know if this will permanently
stunt the growth of the plant or if it will simply recover and stay as a
viable plant. Does anyone have any experience with this ???? If it grows as
vigorously as it has been I am looking at allot of fun this year. YES GREEN
!! and one Orange I feel the 791 Glasier as being a 567.5 Mombert self and
sibbed will defiantly do the job !!
My back up seeds are coming along quite well now after a slow start. The
901 Needham is popping the ground along with the 862.5 Hester. The 547
Kournikakis has stopped growing after popping out of the ground and I will
have to sit on it and wait and see if it comes out of its rest period.
The irrigation in the garden is going wonderful after taking Bob Troys
advice and purchasing some incredible little MINNI sprinklers. Tomorrow I put
up the 20 ft X 10 ft green house tarping over the 986 Hester as an experiment
and do the last rototillering. From now on its just a sit and wait situation
and I will enjoy the restful Memorial Day weekend.
Take care all and if anyone has any comments I will be around all weekend.
If there is anyone that knows if a pumpkin root will recover from damage with
no adverse affects I will defiantly be happy to hear it!!! Take care and GROW
EM BIG...
