Weigh-Off How To??

Hello Group -
This is our 4th year dabbling with pumpkins and they've never let us
down - even when neglected they are still impressive! But the time
has come for a more serious and dedicated approach as I have proposed
a first-time local weigh-off. The pressure is on! I know of a handful
of people that will rise to the challenge this year, and anticipate
more as we grow (yuk, yuk) each year. But here is my dilemma: I have
not yet figured out how to weigh the pumpkins. I have access to a
Bobcat, and that's as far as I've gotten. I'm not opposed to
approaching those folks that may have the equipment needed, I just
don't know what we need. Or better yet what works best, second best,
or what should be avoided. I've never witnessed a true weigh-off but
all the pictures look like the pumpkins sit on pallets. Is a bobcat
sufficient? I'd be surprised if any entries topped more than 550#
this first year. Please, if anyone has any wisdom to share from
experience, or, inventive thoughts...I accept graciously.
Also if anyone has any used equipment (Tarps, etc.?) to sell, I'm all ears.
And thanks.
