Lake water

Hello 

 

Any problems with using lake water for a pumpkin patch or a garden in
general?  I have a good sized gravel pit behind my house the water is
clean and has fish in it so its safe as far as that goes.  I was
thinking about using an old sump pump to fill barrels to water the
pumpkins and if it has enough pressure, sprinkle the garden with it.
Anyone see any problems with this??  The city sewage bills are really
getting outrageous and they base the sewage bill on the water usage
regardless if your putting it on your garden or down the sewer.
