I believe the rest of it is to seal the lid with wax.
Cover the whole pumpkin with foil and place into a pot or pail and
place into a dark area.  After about 1 month or so, I think you have to
strain it through cheese cloth, and you have pumpkin rum.  ( I'm not
sure if I missed anything but if anyone actually wants the recepie let
me know) and it uses only the small pumpkins.  My 80 year old mother in
law makes it all the time.

Alcohol is easy to make from many products of the garden, including
Pumpkins 
Rum. 

Warning: Depending on what kind of repressive governments you live
under, the 
growing, production, sale or consumption of this might be illegal.
Wherever 
you live, consumption to excess is bad for your health. 

What you'll need: 


1 Pumpkin 
A quantity of brown sugar Preperation.

Cut off the top 1/4 of the pumpkin. Hollow the seeds and loose material
in 
the center, put the seeds aside for planting. Fill up the space with
sugar. 
Replace the top. 

Wait for hissing and popping. Then peirce a hole through the bottom of
the 
pumpkin and allow the rum to drain.
