Re: plants

Brian,

I've stepped away from the squash this year, so if Blake gets 362 or
better, he will own the squash record. (I don't know who else is growing
them.)

All:

As always, I'm documenting my travails (otherwise known as "The
Road to Rexburg") at:

Regards, and grow them big,
or at least don't freeze them, Cliff

I'm growing the following
670 Daigle
1101 Northrup
1225 Jutras
1233 Reiss
1048 Companion came up looking weird with only 1 cotyledon. I planted a 981
Zunino as a backup. It depends on how the 1048 does.
My daughter (age 9) wanted part of the action this year so she has an 689
Sandercock.
My son (age 12) really wants to beat the Idaho state record for squash (I
believe it is 381 or something) so he is growing the 848 MacKenzie and the 823
Gadberry. He tried to start 2 756 Kennedy's but neither one would take off.

Typical spring here in Idaho. As I'm typing this the outside thermometer
says its 25 degrees outside. The plants are all tucked in hoop houses with
electric heaters on which is keeping it 37 degrees inside. Still not the warm
temps that AG's love but at least they aren't frozen.
