Jordan,
Sounds like too much moisture to me. I've never had any luck with the "rag
doll" germination like we used to use for corn.
I just germinated 10 older seeds. All came up on five days.
1. Lightly sanded the edges. (not the growing point)
2. Soak in warm water 24 hours.
3. Plant in peat pots with very little water in the soil mixture. I put the
soil mixture in a 5-gallon bucket
and then add a little water and mix up. Very little water in the
planting mix.
4. I have an old water bed heater in the bottom of a cooler.
5. 85 degrees (vary the temperature by opening or closing the lid a little
after it stabilizes around 85 degrees.
6. Add a very little water each day on the top of the peat pots as they dry
out. The bottom will still be moist.
Good luck..
