Debbie,
Prior to planting, I have my greenhouses shut up pretty tight. I allow the
temp's to get quite high (100-110F +) in an effort to warm my soil. After
setting my plants out, I prefer to have my temp's in the 85-90 F range. Here
in Western NY, I leave my greenhouses up for about a month, essentially the
whole month of May.
Rain water is best, but I would think well and spring water would be fine
too. When I don't have rain water available, I use municipal tap water. I
let it sit for a day and over that short time, the chlorine will all be
dispersed and/or gone.

I have a couple of questions. What temps should you aim for in your
greenhouses
prior to and after planting the seedlings? When do you remove the houses?
Secondly, does anyone have a preference on type of water to use with
starting
mix? Well, distilled, spring, general drinking?
Debbie
