Dear Fellow Growers
In 1996 there were 81 official pumpkins over 700 pounds. After checking my
records I find that I do not have the "parents" of 11 from this group. These
fruit are:
Official Weight Grower Site
788.5 Webber Port Elgin,Ont
769 E.Brown Clarence,NY
756 T.Hoshigima Japan
752 Sugenga Japan
740 Collver Simcoe,Ont
725.5 MacNay Port Elgin,Ont
724 Van Houtte St John's,MI
722.5 Peters Byron,MN
720 McIver Port Elgin,Ont
717 H.Hoshijima Japan
707 Klages Port Elgin,Ont
It would be most appreciated if anyone on this network can supply me with
the "parents" of any one of the above.
Feel free to add any under 700 pounders and any "unofficial" fruit from
which seeds may be planted.
We never know where the next big ones will spring from and it is useful to
all growers to know the ancestory when choosing seeds in future years.
I believe it is important that a grower keep reliable records for the
benefit of us all since no one individual organzation can readily do that.
I am willing to supply the time and effort to this part of our hobby and now
I am asking for a little assistance. In return I may be able to provide the
ancestory to anyone who has an interest in any individual pumpkin(s)in the
future.
Yours Sincerely---Al Eaton
