Don't want to thin out your plants? If you love your plants more than you
love the pumpkins you hope to get, leave them in. Soon they will grow into a
huge complicated mass. You won't know which vine comes from which plant. You
won't be able to care for them. You won't be able to get into the patch to
check the little pumpkins. In short, you will have a huge mess. You will be
unhappy. And next year you will do it right. Or maybe, just maybe, you will
thin the plants out now.
