Holes in the ground

Dear List,
Thank you for the response. At this time I believe the culprits are
Crows, Black Birds and Blue Jays.
I picked up 2 cans of Isotox ( $10.20 per 1 lb. Can). Isotox, mixed 4
ounces per 100 pounds of seed, will give birds a real bad soar throat.
I seeded another days worth of corn and also seeded my Indian corn mixed
with Isotox. While plowing and harrowing the fields today, I watched
what birds were doing what.
In past years I would be seeding, harrowing, plowing and/ or spraying on
the same day. Unfortunately my big tractor has been in the shop for the
LAST 4 WEEKS (another sad story how a farmer gets !*#*@^). Since the big
tractor has been broken I have been unable to work like usual. I took my
smaller tractor and the plow and did some modifications. Now I am back
in business working on the farm the way I like it.
I feel, in past years, that while I was working new fields by disturbing
the field and exposing worms etc., the birds would follow me. Since the
fields were just sitting, the birds, had no choice but to attack the
corn plants.
I have been farming for over 10 years and have never had a problem like
this. In the next few days, I should see if this will make a difference.
Looking over many of my logs, I notice something of a pattern. "I have
had a typical season- As typical something has gone wrong"
I spend the winter going over past problems so that next year will be
better.
