It was a sad day in the patch today.14 of my 30 pumpkin plants were
killed by a hard frost.It got down to 25 degrees here in southern
Wisconsin.I had all the plants covered with either a waxpaper hot tent
or a slitted row cover mini-greenhouse.The ones under the hot tents
survived while the ones under the row covers all died.Luckily I have
started some backups just in case.Oh well,there is nothing we can do
about the weather.
