I do grow a lot of peppers and tomatoes but not using hydroponics I'm just thinking about it. Though I have done a lot of research and it doesn't look to hard or expensive depending on how big and elaborate the system is.
A simple one could be a large waterproof container with a drain, filled with some sort of inert material (3/8" round gravel, baked clay hydroponic pellets, etc...), and some way to check and keep the water/nutriant level even. Just remember that the roots need oxygen so don't fill it to the top. You can probably go to your local library for more details. And I would like that cucumber recipy if nothing else I might grow a giant cucumber.
Thanks,
Pepper Man
