Medicine Hat Update

The weather up here has been poor the past several days and the forcast
continues for cloudy/cool/rain. We even set a record overnight low a
few days ago of +2 Celcius. The plants in my cold frame (Greer 1006 and
the Geerts 894) are both doing well. I've now added an old electric
in-car heater and a thermostat to keep the temperature well above
ambient (21-25 Celcius).

For the Americans who live further south who are wondering what the heck
an "in-car heater" is, its a small electric space heater we use inside
our cars when they are parked outdoors in the winter to pre-heat the
vehicle interior, at least for those of us without heated garages (or
any garage in my case).

Hopefully the weather in June will be better and my plants will be in a
good position to take advantage of it. I still plan to move one of them
to an alternate site, but not during this cold spell.
