Duncan,
We have a local wieghoff at the Ridgebury Gun Club, right off route 17
in Pennsylvania, rock throwing distance of New York and the "Southern
Tier". For more info, and membership info, visit my website, and check
out the newsletters, weighoff results, and more, or call 717 596-4414
and ask for Brian McCarthy. He is our local weighoff representative. Our
yearly dues are only 6 bucks, and that includes a half of chicken!! No
big money involved, last year 1st place saw 25 bucks, but we do get some
very large pumpkins. Last year we had a 789 pounder lost to a field
mouse, and our club record is 728 or cl;ose to that. (am not sure, but
know it is close to that). Our organization is called the Northern Tier
Giant Pumpkin Growers Club.
