Craig-over the last ten years there have been a few each year driven over
the border and I have never heard of any paperwork,restrictions or problems
of any kind,either way.
The reaction I got between Ontario and NY state was disbelieve,then
smiles,jokes and "goodbye,have a great day".It probably brightened an
otherwise boring day at work.
