A phone call to your local State Ag Inspection/Trucking station would be your
best bet, unless you are close to a border inspection station. The latter
could tell you what to expect.

They might want to inspect it, give it a look over, and probably will allow
you to pass. I don't think the US/Canada border is that strict to turn you
away. Your pumpkin poses no threat to ther ag industry.

However, be careful traveling from the southwestern states into AZ or CA.
Their inspectors will give you a rough way to go. I was travelling west on
Rt.10 from Texas on our way to CA. All cars have to stop to be inspected for
gypsy moths, med flies, etc, and we were asked if we had any plants, fruit or
other such items. They went into our cooler and found bananas and other fruit,
and it was taken from us, and discarded.  The ruling is that these things
cannot ENTER, although anything can leave.
