Weird White Seeds

I know this has been discussed before but my memory is shot and I have
no recall as to what has been said. I have a package of 107 pumpkin
seeds from Castellucci of Rhode Island from a 410 who's parents are 722
Holland x 567.5 Mombert. Nice lineage but these are those weird white
somewhat flat seeds. They always make me think twice about their
quality. Rado says no difference and that actually some say they prefer
them even. OK why is this seed so different looking then 95% of the
other seeds?
