After germination and transplanting, what are the optimum SOIL
temperatures during the growth cycle of the pumpkin?
With some plants, growth habit can be controlled by manipulating the
difference between the day and night temperature. Does anyone know the
optimum temperatures for AG pumpkins? (both the optimum day night average
and the optimum "dif")
After watching this list for a while, I have not noticed any "large"
pumpkins being produced in Southern Calif in previous years. Is there a
reason for that?
I have a little contest going here in Camarillo, CA and this list has
been instrumental in obtaining seed and providing interesting
information.
Thanks,
Allen

Temperature: Daytime: Sunny with a temp 85-88 with little wind and a dewpoint
of 65+. Night: Temp of 68 and a dewpoint of 68. Night temperature is more
important than daytime temp because most growth occurs at night. If you have
Excel I can send you a chart that shows this, (less most dewpoint readings
though).
