Joe,
This stuff that Rick gave me for the tax deductible donation to FONZ is
incredible. It was worth the 284 miles round trip. Including wear and tear
it cost me about $108.
Tell Beth that I planted the Brock 591 at 7:45 this morning. It loves the sun
and is responding well with 2 new leaves. Now I wonder if I should self
pollinate or cross with one of yours? We cut the male flowers at 3am and I'm
in Richmond by 6am.....
Would I be a bee, then? Or just wacko? I think we have the pumpkin fever as
bad as those guys who do civil war reinactments? Who was it that was
flocculating in his garden by himself? Does that make him a master
pollinator?
How soon do I use Daconil? When do I begin with pesticides? Where do I get a
Solo back pack sprayer? I guess I should start keeping records. Right now,
I'm in it for the Art and not the Science. Think of Howard Dill as a great
artist. You should photograph him in his garden with a big one. It would be
nice for Southern Pumpkins fall issue. Frame the original for your office.
Sounds like a September road trip!
