Allen - I noticed that noone responded to your question about ideal SOIL
temperatures (although George gave you an ideal air temperature profile).
I don't have an answer, but I'd like to know anything you find out. Can
you drop me a note?
You mentioned that we can control the growth habits of certain plants by
manipulating the day/night (soil) temperatures - how do you control soil
temperature (with water?) and what sorts of plants?
My context is that I am installing an automated watering system which
responds to conditions measured in the yard. I could easily add soil
temperature to the sensor suite if I knew what to do with it.
thanks,
Dan Shapiro
