I'm not sure where you live but sunfloweres can take a light frost. I
would plant them right away and since they are the giant ones, I would
space them 2 feet apart. They are heavy feeders so give them some fish
or seaweed emulsion or transplant solution. They don't need any support
unless there is a lot of wind , otherwise they will soon toughen up.
With an early start they can grow over 12 feet tall with huge heads
over 16 inches in diameter. Keep fertilizing them once a week during
the entire growing season.....Ken Reinsborough
