Hi.
My name is Paul Thompson and I live about 30 miles north of Detroit. I
am new to this list as well as to the world of competitive pumpkin
growing. We have had a fair amount of success in the Halloween pumpkin
market (mostly Lumina and Big Moon varieties). Now, however, we want to
try our hand at growing the big fellas.
We have never overly fertilized our pumpkin patches in the past. But we
were never trying to raise world-class pumpkins, either. We have many
horse farms around us and manure is easily available.
My question about manure: Is horse manure a good source for nutrients
for pumpkins?
