paul, i,m no expert either but i,ve grown over my septic feild or been right
next to it for years. as i understand it there are trace elements still in
the water and i was told that the water slowly filters to the surface where
it,s supposed to evaporate. i have noticed that you can tell where the feild
is because it will be moister there. my problem is trying to regulate the
water to the plant because you have areas that are wetter than others till
summer then things seem to even out . as for depth. up here the feild is 18
in. down so there,s ample soil on top to till although i,m trying to build
up my depth in hopes it will even out moisture . never had a problem with
roots plugging lines not to say it couldn,t happen but they would just rot
wouldn,t they ? too much moisture? go for it unless you have a better
place . i don,t good luck craig
