Planting Update from SE MN

Planting update news from the rain forest of SE Minnesota. Germination
was a success as 16 of the 17 AG pumpkin seeds germinated. Had to make
some decisions as only 12 plants were going to be planted. Planted six
on Monday (5-10) and the other six in the rain on Wednesday (5-12). I
gave the remaining plants to a couple of other growers. Have not been
able to plant the vegetables in the garden as this area has had some
sort of rainfall everyday since last Tuesday. You can see where my
priority is. :)

All of the plants look good and all are starting their second leaf
except for two -- the second 858 Baird 97 and the 854 Holland 98. To
this point, the 693 Heyne 98 is ahead with the 968 Sproule 98 and the
608 Hester 98 a close second. The following AGs were planted -- the
parentage of each AG is also given:

1) 968 Sproule 98 -- 690 Sproule 97 x 690 Sproule 97
2) 740 Wray 98 -- 876.5 Lloyd 96 x 1006 Greer 96
3) 452 Heyne 97 -- 690 Schlutt 96 x 612 Ciliberto 94
4) 400 (UOW) Heyne 98 -- 739 Eaton 97 x 520 Heyne 97
5) 765.5 Bruce 98 -- 935 Lloyd 97 x 935 Lloyd 97
6) 584 Heyne 98 -- 858 Baird 97 x 696.6 Klema 97
7) 693 Heyne 98 -- 858 Baird 97 x 520 Heyne 97
8) 423 Heyne 98 -- 452 Heyne 97 x 520 Heyne 97
9) 608 Hester 98 -- 627.5 Hester 95 x 827 Holland 92
10) 858 Baird 97 -- 1006 Greer 96 x 887 Orr 95
11) 858 Baird 97 -- 1006 Greer 96 x 887 Orr 95
12) 854 Holland 98 -- 876.5 Holland 96 x 827 Holland 92

Now, some sunshine and warm temperatures are needed for these plants to
grow.
