Dan and Beth-
Thanks for the advise. Unfortunately, I travel alot out of state with
my job on the weekdays, so the only time I have to tend to my patch is on
the weekends. I was going to get something around them this weekend if the
forecast doesn't improve significantly. Also, I have a friend from college
that grew up in Clinton. Do you know a Jeff Mensinger? Just thought I'd
ask. Anyways good luck with your patch this year. Sorry it took so long to
reply, I was only able to get online with my laptop today. Regards Steve
M.

Steve,
I'm in Clinton Iowa straight west of chicago and am having the same type
things here. Your right the weather has been a little harsh lately. Do you
have them cover with some sort of poly greenhouse?? I started 3 plants about
6 days before my real plants and did not cover them. When my real plants
went out I've cover and uncovered according to the weather religiously. I
wanted to see how big of difference it really makes. The real plants have
about 5 leaves while the uncovered ones 6 days older still only have ONE
true leaf!!! So cover them if you don't and if they look healthy just be
patient. They should come around. I try to have plants starting to vine by
the 1st week of june. Hope this helps
