Bill,
I have two plants from P & P that I am very happy with. I started
them on May 1st. My "One Ton Cross" (1061x1006) now has several leaves on
it. The biggest is the second leaf, measuring about 11 inches. I call this
plant "The Vermonster". I have great expectations for it.
(he-he-he) I also have a generic 800lb+ plant growing, but it was not
quite as quick to germinate and I have not babied it as much as the
Vermonster. TheVermonster had a 1/8" to 1/4" root coming out of it less
than 24 hours after I started it, including soaking time. I sanded, then
soaked my seeds for two hours, then put them in an 88 deg. drawer wrapped in
damp paper towels inside zip-loc bags.
This week has been cool here too. It has been rainy with temps in the
60's. The Vermonster is in a cold frame though, and is still showing growth
every day.
Good luck on growing the second largest,
Dan in Vermont
