Mat and others;
Mat, the seed I sent you is the 833 Handy X the 935 Lloyd not
x the 946.5 Geerts. I have given away both 906 x 935 and 833 x 935 seedlings
I had up, just not enough room. Both looked very good and I hated to part
with them. I have my first female blossom forming on the 935 x 600 Jones. All
my other plants look good, but some have the yellowing on the leaves others
are talking about. After many tries I finally have a 614 up and planted in
the garden. Also I have one plant throwing double leaves at the same time,
just like others on the list. This plant is from the 468 I grew last year.
(680 Wallace x 600 Jones) I've given this plant away, It will be interesting
to see if it throws the double wide vine as others suggest. The 468 was my
best looking and shaped pumpkin from 1998. Cucumber beetles are everywhere,
my squash decoy plants are working out very well. Twice a day I pinch off the
beetles I see. I have seen very few on the pumpkin plants as the greenhouses
are still on them.
Question for the group, sugar I've read can enhance fert. to the plants. I
also believe I've read if your going to try a little sugar, confectionary
sugar is the one to try. Anyone know anything about this? Also waiting for a
reply to the yellow leaf questions here in CT. and NY. Thanks
Alan R.
