Hello All.. I'm glad to hear everyone finally getting started this year
- I hope to see everyone have a fine season --- Wow.. there sure seems
to be a ton of great seed from last year --- and years past... and it
will be neat to see how everyone does and what they have luck/success
with..
..I'm having a (great) bit of luck in the Deep South this year as things
are winding down for me.... I kinda have a contender going here... In
another week I should have a (somewhat offical) weight --- A Mombert 937
seed has worked out nice for me this year.. I currently have a fruit
measuring 289 total inches.. which estimates to 484 pounds on the new
Stellpflug chart... (This is VERY BIG for Florida.. for those who don't
know ---- opps -- I thought I'd throw that in..)
Of recent discussion.. this plant started out with a short 3-4' flat
main vine... but then split to two single main vines.. which I then cut
to one --(the bigger of the two) --- this still worked out very nice for
me --- with a nice strong aggressive plant... and fruit.... Things are
really heating up here --- if not outright hot.. and the season is
coming to a close fast.. I should have a good weight here soon... and
maybe a new state record... I'll be sure to let everyone know...
Best of Luck to everyone this year... And Thanks again to all who have
helped in my AG growing.. it sure has been an adventure..
