Well, I gotta admit I am a little biased - if you call it a squash then I
take over the state pumpkin record. It was definitely a borderline fruit -
not clearly a pumpkin and not clearly a squash - I looked at it in
Scherber's patch before the weigh off and at that time he admitted to me
that it was a borderline fruit, saying he thought it could go either way -
borderline squash or borderline pumpkin? Who knows?
As for the nod going to make it a pumpkin because it was the largest at the
site - I can't say - I wan't privy to any of that.

I must have come across as a bit pissy...for this I must first
appologize....I'm not arguing..In fact I was just trying to let others
know.....with the rules we have now...And in my opinion....always
will.....we are going to have "some " fruit that may or may not be
called squash at one site and then at a different site......be called a
pumpkin....
I ASSURE you Glen.....size of the fruit had no barring on wheather it
was deamed pumpkin or Squash..Trust me..IT was KING no matter what...at
64" wide and 50" long....42" high.....I don't care what color it was
..It got the LOOKS!!! LOL!!!
As I stated before....Anamosa only catagorizes them ....IF ...they
are large enough to win say GPC prize money....Those who are getting
them into the AGG data base usually takes care of that stuff on there
own...whether to list it as pumpkin or squash!!
I don't agree with you Glen on a Squmpkin being a squash....BUT
that is just my opinion..and obviously a few others that made the
actual call in Anamosa....I admitt...my opinion was asked....and I
stated what I thought...I do believe Kevin Holman also looked it
over...HELP KEVIN!!!LOL!!!
OK everyone happy....?? I have tried to shed a bit of light on the
sistuation...Hope this has helped ease any tension that I may have
brought to the list...I have been the instigator before on different
rifts...This one I have tried my best to explain....Face it....Anamosa
makes the call....just like Topsfield does...just like Half moonbay
...ect..ect..ect....What makes one sites decisions more right then
OURS!!!!?? JUst thinking out load again!!!Later
