Re: State/Provincial Top 10.

I can't open the attachment from AL but perhaps Kathie or Bob Troy you can
and give me one example from Al's ....

I think the idea is a very sound one to look at the top ten from each state.
It is obvious that California, Oregon and Washington had the best weather
weve had in a while. I am sure other High State totals would demonstrate
favorable conditions too.

And if there other pumpkin nuts out there that watch the night and day temps
and record them then we can come up with some thought of what temps are
pushing seeds to their fullest potential.

Another reason the region top 10 is a good idea is when searching for seed
you have to understand the full picture.

We have the tendency to look at the earthshaking monsters. But usually
behind each of these monsters is great soil, a great veteran grower, and
great weather.

Now the hardest thing to do is add up the equation of the lesser fruit

Somebody had to take a chance with ... well not flashy seed a 700

which this year seems to be the leader in big ones. 705 stelts ,723
bobier, 712 kuhn,,,,,,,and who knows how many others that don't get
tried........

But if you could compare the top 10 of a region regardless of their weights
and understand the fulll story behind the seed.........That top batch could
still be soooo credible......as demonstrated this year

What is needed is new enthusiastic Blood to step up to the plate and donate
your energy to represent your state!..........MB
