I will say what I found when I dug up my clone stump.  It was amazing, I 
expected a piddly root system, but instead I found a root system that was 
gargantuan.  It was more developed at the secondary roots, and the main stump 
(if you can call it that) had every bit as much root developement as my other 
stumps with the exception of my biggest plant which was in a whole different 
category.  The clone's main roots were about the diameter of a nickel, and 
there were 4 of those roots at the base of the plant.  The conclusion I came 
up with is that the root system will develope whether it had a primary root 
system or not.  Hope this helps anyone whom is thinking about growing a clone.
