Been waiting for a good opportunity to jump
in- thanks guys
I have spoken with a professor on C. maxima plant
breeding and it has been shown that this particular species DOES NOT lose plant
vigor through imbreeding. Obviuosly the Willemse line of fruit are
the best example of that. Sorry Bill, but you cant compare fox to
pumpkins.
The problem lies in that there havent been enough
seeds grown from multiple generations of imbreeding. Therefore there isnt
enough data to draw conclusions from.
