Back in 1986 I had 2 ,1000 watt Metal Halide lights on one plant. On the
leaves closest to the pumpkin. If you stood under those long enough they would
give you a sun burn. I went to 18 hour days.....lit up the neighborhood. Your
memory is correct, they were stolen, probably by someone growing other than
pumpkins.
