Trick or treat????


G,day all.
                 Here in Australia we don't have halloween, although it's
starting to catch on.
What I want to know is what is the idea of the trick or treat bit.
You give the kids some lollies for a treat but what is the trick
part of it all?
I have heard a few different ideas about it.
Please enlighten me.
