I am one of the few South African Giant Pumpkin Growers. I have start
preparing the soil of our pumpkin patch. The way I prepare is a bit
different than the usual. We had a slight problem here. The soil is very
poor, and I decided to dig 4 feet deep holes, about 10 feet by 10 feet. I
then started filling the hole with some compost, some good soil and monure
and mixing some ferteliser in. I water the patch each day, for the
ferteliser to disolve and for the nutriets to break up into the soil. I am
now ready to plant the seeds, but only one problem, I'm still waiting for
the seeds to arive in the post.
I 'll try to keep everyone updated on how everything is doing. By the way,
does anyone know what the South African record is??

Most of the seeds in North America are still drying and wont be ready for a
few more weeks.
