Check your math and your muscles Andrea. Be careful not to equate one
gallon to one cubic foot. One cubic foot of water is approximately seven
gallons of water which by your formula is 56lbs. Pretty close to what
pumpkinguy says and close enough for our purposes.

Imagine for a 1000sqft. patch about enough for one plant, one inch of rain
equals .6 x 1000 or 600gals of water or 12 fifty gal drums if you don't
have a sprinkler system. Multiply that times 6-8 weeks of growing season.
Now there's a project for the pumpkin thiefs and a four gallon bucket. Send
it to the judge.
