RE: Number of pumpkins on plant

I always go for two+ a plant

Reasons:

1.	I have two kids each gets to "own" one and takes a personal interest
in "their' pumpkin
2.	All your eggs in one basket, if one blows up you still have a backup
as I only have space for one plant
3.	I grow this plant in 800 sq. feet; the best it has done in 1000 lbs
over three pumpkins (410, 360, 300)
4.	Last year both blew up at over 400 lbs each, very hot August here in
N. California. (this result disproved #2 above; you can't win them all)
5.	This year a 507and a 250; last night was great with all the
neighborhood kids enjoying the display of two carved GA on the front porch.
Each had a 60 watt light bulb inside with a 5 gallon pot of hot water with
dry ice bubbling and smoking. Quite a display!

Happy Halloween to all other pumpkin growers!

Time to get the soil tested and the cover crop in for next years attempt.

Have fun

Tom

Ok here is another item for all, how many pumpkins to
leave on
your plant. Do we go with one- two- three- or more per plant, anyone
have
	an answer.
