After carrying all my pumpkins down the hill and placing all over the
yard.... the last thing I wanted to do is carry them back up the hill. SO I
was hoping someone was going to take them. I wake up every morning and
they are all still their. Even the two pound pumpkins.
I had one fun event with my daughter when we were placing the pumpkins.
Placing pumpkins in a wheel barrow is not an easy task when you place more
than two. The one on top always seems to get away from you.
On one trip from the backyard to the front, the top pumpkin decided to
jump out of the wheel barrow and roll down the hill. My daughter said
"Daddy there goes the pumpkin. Go get before a car hits it". I looked at
this pumpkin rolling down the hill and I started to chuckle. I was
wondering to myself, "Boy these pumpkins are tough". The pumpkin rolled
and rolled while gaining speed as it approached the street. I was
wondering, "OK now it is going to break". This orange ball of fire hit the
sidewalk and launched itself in the middle of the street. My daughter
stated, "A car is going to hit it". I replied "Wait, lets see where it
goes". As I watched, it finally rolled out of the cul-de-sac and into the
main street. I grabbed my wheel barrow and proceeded down the hill to the
side walk while listening for cars in the distance. When I finally got to
the pumpkin, it was still solid as a rock. My daughter is tells me "Daddy,
get it out of the road before a car hits it." So, I started to roll it
back up the hill to its final destination.
