Pumpkin people:
I scooped the seeds and viscera from my Thomas 235 (grown in NY from Eaton 739
X Eaton 664) and lay them out to dry in the morning sun. Overcast gave way to
full sunshine (unexpectedly) and my seeds got mighty hot before I realized it.
I moved them to a better spot indoors under a Casablanca fan in air
conditioned comfort, where they are continuing to dry nicely.
Question:
Will this two hour sun bath harm my seeds? They were physically very warm to
the touch, almost as if they'd been in an oven.
I opened a couple of the seeds to discover the seed kernel still moist and
pliable.
Second Question:
I noticed the shape and color of my seeds to be different from the traditional
Atlantic Giant seeds. They are large and plump, big as a man's thumbnail, but
creamy white, not having that thick, tough, varnished looking seed coat most
AGs do.
Anyone care to comment on their seed sizes, shapes or color for this season?
