I have just planted two Smith 530s and two Andersen's (977 & 684). I
know I will have to cull two out soon (sob - sob) but I will see if I
can get them out whole and give 'em away. I am hoping to pollinate an
Andersen with a Smith and a Smith with an Andersen. Time will tell. The
weather has turned good with hot sun and temp's in high teens (cannot
compete with you Aussies though).
We have given out over two hundred and fifty packets of seeds now. I
will give out the names and addresses of those who were able to
contribute seeds to the growers and ask them to send you a postcard
each. That is if nobody has any objections.
The seedlings are getting two true leaves and are going well. They are
covered with glass cloches for now and will be surrounded with glass
doors when they outgrow the cloches. The Smith have heavily 'marbled'
leaves but I think that is all part of it.
We will be having our A&P show soon and that means lots of spare straw
in the stables afterwards - I can use that for a mulch - yipee!!! The
good Lord does provide.
