RE: drying seeds
Brad,
Wash your seeds first with water and perhaps a little bleach to get the
slime off of them. Be careful not to splash on yourself. Once you've
cleaned off the pumpkin snot spread them out in a single layer on an old
window screen. Put time in an area where it is the air is dry and it is
relatively warm, over 60º F and set the screen up so air can circulate
through it. Within a few days the seeds should be dry enough for the thin
filmy layer on them to slip off. You can then pack them away in an airtight
containger with some silica gel dessicant packets to keep things dry and
refrigerate or freeze them until you are ready to plant.
